From the September 2020 schools began teaching RSE (Relationships and sex education). At Ashover we use the Derbyshire County Council approved PHSE Matters Scheme of work to support our teaching and learning in RSE.

We teach children about sex education in Year 5 and 6 as this is the time when their bodies are changing and they are becoming inquisitive about reproduction. We write to parents before this is taught and they have the option to request that their child opts out of these lessons.
